The Immigration Appeal Division Issues Notice Introducing Administrative Changes to Appeal Process

The Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) has issued a notice introducing three administrative changes to the IAD appeal process. Right now the IAD has over 11,000 appeals waiting to be resolved. This is resulting in excessive delays for parties who are waiting for their appeals to be resolved. To address this problem, the IAD is introducing these three administrative changes to its process which will enable it to focus more of its ressources on those appeals that fall within its jurisdiction and where appellants intend to proceed.
