New Government of Canada Security Screening Procedures for Contractors

Security screening is an integral component of the contracting process across the Government. As part of new security screening measures being introduced by the Government of Canada, fingerprints and credit checks will be required for all individuals when they are engaged as contractors, or upon renewal of their security clearance.

As of August 15, 2016, these new security measures will be implemented at the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB). The IRB continues to ensure that all personal information collected during the security screening process is protected according to the requirements of the Privacy Act. This applies to the collection, retention, use and disposal of personal information.
