Due to expected road closures as a result of the Global Climate Strike demonstration planned for September 27, 2019, the following measures have been taken by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) in Montreal:
- Refugee Protection Division: all hearings scheduled for Friday, September 27 will be postponed. All refugee claimants and their counsel are being contacted to advise them of the change of date and time of their hearing.
- Immigration Division: hearings scheduled for the morning of September 27 will take place. Hearings scheduled for the afternoon will be postponed to Monday, September 30 at 9:00 am.
- Immigration Appeal Division: all hearings scheduled for Friday, September 27 will be postponed. All appellants and their counsel are being contacted to advise them of the change of date and time of their hearing.
Scheduled hearings in all other cities will proceed as planned.
