New Refugee Protection Division Member Recruitment Campaign

The Refugee Protection Division (RPD) is one of four tribunals (or divisions) within Canada's largest independent administrative tribunal, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). The RPD has recently launched a nationally advertised application process to fill independent public servant decision-maker positions (PM-06) at our Montréal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices. Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications. For more information, and to apply for this position please visit the advertised process.

Working as independent decision-makers at a tribunal at arm's length from government, RPD members conduct proceedings in a fair and expeditious manner and render timely decisions on claims for refugee protection made in Canada. RPD decision-makers must be highly specialized and trained to conduct impartial and expeditious proceedings.

It should be noted that, as opposed to a closing date, the RPD is implementing an inventory approach for this advertised process. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment. However, equally as important to note is that we have an immediate need to staff multiple positions. As a result, the first wave of applicants who will be assessed will be drawn from the inventory on June 5, 2016 at 11:59 pm PDT. Candidates applying as of June 6, 2016 or after will be considered in future waves of assessment.
