Procedures for Making a Complaint about a Member

The Chairperson of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) has issued Procedures for Making a Complaint about a Member. These procedures replace the Protocol Addressing Member Conduct Issues.

The Procedures outline the process of making a complaint about the conduct of an IRB member (decision-maker). The Protocol was revised in an effort to render the process more clear, accessible and transparent. Also, to ensure an efficient and centralized process, the review and investigation of all complaints against members will now be administered by the IRB’s Office of Integrity, which is independent from the Board’s Divisions.

Please refer to the Procedures for all details, including its application and the process to make a complaint.

Sincerely,

Mario Dion
Chairperson
Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada
